Because stars have their own light.. As sun is also a star it also has its own light... Sun is closest to our solar system so we can see it clearly but different stars are away from us so they twinkle

We know that our earths surface is covered by many atmospheric belts and stars are luminous object that is the have their own heat and light. when the ray enters the surface of earth it gets refracted and it seems that stars are twinkling.
