Position of President is very strong in our constitution, he can only be impeached for the violation of constitution.
First of all, corresponding position of president is governor. So, state legislative assemblies deal with governor only in legislative matters.
While role of president is nominal for state assembly. He interfere in state matters only when governor makes a request.
Secondly, impeachment require close scrutiny of violation of constitution and such a large no. of MLA, everyone presence in impeachment is not feasible.
Thirdly, these state legislature are subjected to election at different point of time. So, there will be possibility that impeachment and election process may coincicide.
( all these reasons are based on my understanding, rest only constitution maker will know better.)
