When steam condenses, it releases its massive heat of vaporization. At that point, it is just boiling water. ... So you see, equal amount of steam containsmore heat than that of liquid water.

When stream hits our cool skin it changes phrases from a gas to a liquid and a massive amount of energy is released on to our skin .So we careful when we reach across that boiling point of water .
