If subtraction has to be removed from roman numerals, then one main change that should take place is that a number should be allowed to be repeated more than 3 times. If this change takes place then it will be easy to write any number in the form of roman numerals.
49= XXXXVIIII
495= CCCCLXXXXV
1999= MDCCCCLXXXVIIII
