Salt molecules are very charged, so they dissolveeasily in water, which has slightly charged molecules.Salt dissolves less easily inalcohol, because alcoholmolecules have less charge than water. Alcohol also has a portion of its molecule that has no charges, i.e., it is non-polar, like oil.
