Sugarcane is sweet due to presence of high amount of carbohydrates, which are sweet in nature. Sugarcane is long woody stem, juicy in nature. It contains carbohydrates namely, sucrose, glucose and fructose. Thus, high amount of glucose and fructose is responsible for sweet flavour of sugarcane.
