Ammonia gas is a base gas and concentrated H2SO4 is an acid thus cannot dry the gas instead it will react to form white fumes of (NH4)2SO4. They would instantly react and no ammonia would come out.

Because ammonia is basic in nature and sulfuric acid is acidic in nature.so if we use the H2SO4 as a drying agent in ammonia preparation, it will continuously react forming the white fumes of

(NH4)2SO4. No ammonia will be formed.
