sun appear red during sunrise and setset bcoz of scattering of light , rays travel very much distance, as they are near to horizon, so the colour with short wavelengths scatter earlier , so only red colour left as it has larger wavelength and less frequency..

so we appear to see sun red during sun rise and sunset
