So, the question asks why the Sun is hot?

Answer: The sun is hot b'cause there are many reactions taking place inside it's core, infact the sun is alive b'cause of that process only. Sun goes through a process called Nuclear Fusion.

In this process, two light atoms combine together to form a heavier atom and then to more heavier atoms. In this reaction a lot of heat energy is given out to convert lighter atom to heavier atoms and thus the sun is hot.

Example: 2 atoms of hydrogen combines to form one helium atom.
