Why sun is the source of all energy in the food chain?

1.because the producers that are plants make their food with the help of sunlight .... if sunlight will not be there so producers will not be alive hence the food chain will break .

2. According to 10 % law . Plants take 10% energy from sun to make its food and level by level this 10 % energy is passed to the next level .. so if sun will not be there there will be no transfer of energy to the tropic levels

All energy of the Earth comes from the sun. Plants, the lowest of the food chain, absorb energy from the sun to photosinthesize ( make food). Herbivores ( plant eaters) eat plants and get the energy that the plant absorbed. Carnivores (meat eaters) eat the herbivores and get the energy the herbivore got from the plant.
