☆☞ In 1881 a social activist NARAYANA MEGHAJI LOKHANDE(FOLLOWER of JYOTHI BAI PHULE) started a movement against British to declare Sunday as holiday. He want Sunday as holiday to takecare of social problems around us. He continues the movement up to 8 years after that the British govt declared Sunday as the holiday in 1889 . From that day onwards in India Sunday is holiday . MEGHAJI HONOURED AS THE FATHER OF TRADE UNION MOVEMENT IN INDIA.
