Answer:

The necessary heat of evaporation is extracted from the sweat itself, which leads to a heat transfer from the liquid into the gaseous state. This results in a cooling effect (called evaporative cooling) that helps to maintain body temperature and cools the body down when it gets too hot.

Question:

Why sweat is (evaporated) cools us? In fact why evaporation cools something?

Answer:

Sweat evaporates cools us due to give out of extra heat by the water present inside the body. When our body temperature gets more than the normal then it reduces the extra heat by secreting body water with some hormones and excreted products in the forms of sweat and the sweat removes or helps to reduce the extra heat energy from our body and as a result we feel cool.

Things to be noted that evaporation and sweating is not same. But yes when we sweat then the sweat gets evaporated and its due to the transpiration of water. And its too true that evaporation of sweat makes us feel cooling. Similarly, it should be noted that, evaporation of any kind liquid including sweat, water etc. makes us feel cool. And the reason is same in case of every liquids.

But, why evaporation makes us feel cool, before explaining about it for the core concept let's recall about the changing of state of water. What happens during the changing of state of water, isn't there a relationship with the changing of temperature and the changing of state of water, yes with the raising of temperature ice changes to water and then  further raising in temperature the water changes into its vapor state and similarly, on cooling the vapor changes into water and on further cooling the water changes into ice and vice versa.

So, what happens during evaporation, from where the water gets heat to be evaporated, the answer is, during the time of evaporation, water absorbs heat energy from its surrounding and gets changed into its vapor state, which makes us feel cooling.
