Explanation:
A switch in the electrical circuit is always connected to the live wire so that the socket/appliance is not live when it is switched off. A fuse is usually a thin piece of wire that will melt and break the circuit if too large a current flows through it.

Switch should always be connected to líve wire :-
The appliance get connected to the high potential point through the líve wire and current flows in appliance because the circuit is complete as the neutral wire provide the return part of the current.

It is dangerous to connect a switch in neutral wire:-
Reason:-
- A switch connected in neutral wire in the on position it allows current to flow through the appliance and in off position no current p@sses through appliance.
- In the off position of the switch the appliance remain connected to high potential terminal through the líve wire.
- There will be no return path for the current.
- In this condition it is not safe to carry out any appliance because on touching the Líve wire terminal of the appliance the current will p@ss through the body of the first person and he or she may get fatal shock.
- In chance the líve wire touches the metallic body of the appliance then by touching the appliance we can get shock.
