The dry season is from February to early June. Tamil Nadu has rain during the monsoon season due to the southwest trade winds which blow towards the northern hemisphere.Tamil Nadu receives rainfall in thewinter season due to northeast trade winds.

hey........
.
Tamil Nadu is located on the eastern coast of India. South India usually receive rainfall from South West monsoons. But these South West monsoons arisine from Arabian Sea gets obstructed by Western Ghats.

Hence , Tamil Nadu receives most of it's rain from north east and retreating monsoons during winter season. Moreover, many low pressure system develop in the Bay of Bengal during this period and move towards the east coast of Tamil Nadu causing heavy rainfall..
