Why N(CH_{3})_{3} is pyramidal but N(SiH_{3})_{3} is planar ?

here is ur answer.....
In case of N ( CH3 )3 , geometry is pyramidal and in case of N ( SiH3 )3 , geometry is planar
In Trimethyl Amines,N atom is Sp3 hybridized which results in pyramidal geometry. There is no Pi bonding bcz C has no low- lying- orbital..
In Trisilyl Amines N atom is Sp2 hybridized which results in planar geometry. There is P!! - D!! bonding bcz Si has vacant D - orbital..
Filled 2P orbital of N overlaps with vacant 3d orbital of Si to from p!! - D!! bond..
