Because of its climatic conditions.And also the temperature remains high

it lies in the rainshadow regionof the Aravali hills and by the time The Bay of Bengal branch reaches Thar it has shed most of its moisture.
Also the Arabian Sea branch moves parallel to the Aravalis and does not bring any rainfall.
