Why the 1st ionization enery of sodium is lower than magnesium but its second ionizaton is higer than that of mg?

Answer:first ionization energy of Na lower because it losses electron easily to attain the nearest nobel gas configuration i.e. Ne.
While at the time of 2nd the ionization energy becomes higher as it is difficult to break the noble gas configuration [[and no elements wants to loss its noble gas configuration ,]]
And at last as for the magnesium it needs to loss 2 electrons to attain noble gas configuration ....
