IT IS BECAUSE MONSOON CURRENT MOVES WESTWARD ALONG THE GANGA PLAINS AND BECOMES DRIER HENCE AMOUNT OF RAINFALL DECREASES AS WE MOVE WESTWARD FROM BENGAL TO PUNJAB.
