As we know that , transpiration takes place where the temperature is very high and transpiration helps in cloud formation which intern brings rainfall. So when we move away from the equator the temperature decreases due to spherical surface of the earth. The areas away from the equator receive slanting rays therefore the temperature is low there and due to the low temperature there ,transpiration is also not high and in turn it affects the rainfall ( Low rainfall).
