Reasons for the movement of nomadic tribes are:

a. Climatic conditions- The nomadic tribes move from one place to another to adjust to seasonal change and make effective use of pastures available in different places in different reasons. In winters for example when mountains are covered with snow, nomadic pastoralists move to low hills, and with onset of summers they start they backward journey.

b. Search for Fodder- Grazing grounds, fodder for their animals in search of the availability of grazing grounds is also another reason for their mobility.

c. Availability of food grains and market- The availability of food grains in different region also decides their migration. For example, The Dhangars get their rice from the konkani peasants. Since nomadic tribes also combine other activities like herding, trading and cultivation their movement is also influenced by the need to sell goods to villagers.
