Argon is a part of d noble gas grp.......the radii of d atoms of these elements cant be calculated by d normal methods.......thus their Van-der-waal's radius is considered (which is greater than d actual value)

Besides that, the presence of paired electrons facilitates repulsion among d electron pairs, n d atom expands to grow on size...thus increasing its radius
