Answer:

the two boys showed extreme selflessness, hardwork, generosity, gentlemanship and dignity for labour. for children their age and condition this was highly unexpected by the author. the teenagers were thought to be beggers due to their slovenly appearance but conversely portrayed profound dignity and respect for odd jobs. their faces were childish and their clothes were tattered but their actions proved otherwise.
