why the blood is called a connective tissue?

blood contains various components like red blood cells , white blood cells and platelets . it also consist of fluid matrix called plasma . it also carry oxygen and nitric gas to different parts of the body . therefore it is called a connective tissue .

Moreover, tissue is a group of cells specialised in particular functions .

Blood is known as a connective tissue because it connects various body tissues and organs together by bringing the oxygen, hormones and various nutrients.

Also, all the connective tissue originate from the mesodermal layer of the embryo and as blood also originate from the same, thus it is considered as the connective tissue.
