Blood is considered a connective tissue because it has a matrix. The living cell types are red blood cells, also called erythrocytes, and white blood cells, alsocalled leukocytes . The fluid portion of whole blood, its matrix, is commonly called plasma.

Blood is know as connective tissue as it bind ups all the hormonal secretions and hold all the body oragans it also transport some essential minerals and hormones and gases to all parts of body.
Blood is considered a connective tissue for two basic reasons: (1) embryologically, it has the same origin (mesodermal) as do the otherconnective tissue types and (2) bloodconnects the body systems together bringing the needed oxygen, nutrients, hormones and other signaling molecules, and removing the wastes . please follow me if you liked my answer
