Blood is called a connective tissue because it connects to all the parts of the body. It supplies nutrients, oxygen, hormones etc. to different parts of the body.
Blood is considered a connective tissue because it has a matrix. The living cell types are red blood cells, also called erythrocytes, and white blood cells, alsocalled leukocytes . The fluid portion of whole blood, its matrix, is commonly called plasma.

Blood is know as connective tissue as it bind ups all the hormonal secretions and hold all the body oragans it also transport some essential minerals and hormones and gases to all parts of body.
