why the boiling point of chloride, bromide and iodides are considerably higher than those of the hydrocarbons of camprable molecular mass

Chlorides, bromides and iodides have higher boiling point due to the strong electrostatic attraction between the molecules. Moreover the lattice structure is very organised or very stable making the salt have a high boiling point.
