why the bulb will not glow in the circuit shown on the above? explain.

it is because of the wrong placement of wires

Both wires are connected to same terminal of the cell ie '-' (negative) So, the bulb will not be able to glow

yogesh4236: Both red and green wires are connected to negative terminals of the cell. One must be connected to negative terminal and other to positive terminal
