Because the objects remove water equal to its mass. and it will lead to floating if object

the buyant force always pushes the body upward because according to archemedis principle the thurst on a surface is the reaction force acc to Newton's 3 law of motion thus water tries to force the object back to the surface otherwise nothing could float on water
