why the color of TiCl3 and TiO2 is violet and white respectively​

as colour of the compound is due to the +nce of the electrons in the d orbital

like TiCl3 has oxidation no. +3 that means it has 1 electron in its d subshell whereas TiO2 has oxidation no. +4 hence it has no electron in its d subshell hence it do not show colour
