Why the colour of leaf is green what is the role of this pigment?

because it only reflects green colour of Sun's white light and rest colours are absorbed and hence leaf appears green and role of this pigment is to absorb Sun's light energy or solar energy and convert it to chemical energy. Found in the chloroplast .
