Sand buckets are mostly kept at gas stations to quickly soak up accidental fuel spillage on the ground. This way the fuel do not run into the soil and get into the water stream under the ground. The other reason is to extinguish fire. So, sand buckets do serve two very important purpose at a gas station.

red refers to alert or to use it so when there is any problem so that they can use as it is a dark color it shows up
