Blue light is scattered in all directions by tiny molecules present in atmosphere. Blue is scattered more because of shorter smaller waves. So sky is seen blue. Ocean:-looks blue because red,orange, yellow (long wave length light) are absorbed more strongly by water than blue.So when white light from the sun enters the ocean, it is mostly the blue that gets returned.
