We know that gravitational force is inversely proportional to square of the distance between objects.. Greater the distance, lower the force.
When an electron gets excited, it moves farther from nucleus and becomes free to move I.e without influence of nucleic forces. But, its absence I.e hole stays in the valence band which is nearer to the nucleus.
Movement of hole is the movement of electron in the opposite direction. So, if a hole has to move, electrons in valence band has to move in opposite direction.. If a conduction electron has to move, electron in conduction band has to move forward. As valence band has stronger nucleic force, hole experiences a difficulty in movement unlike conduction electron which is free to move.
So, mobility of hole is less when compared to that of conduction electron.
