Why the conductivity of a pure semiconductor is increases with temperature??

semiconductor can act as metals and nonmetal due to its special characters but as when metals are heated they expand due to which elections get free as a result electric conductivity of the conductor increases.
hence, the conductivity of a pure semiconductor is increases with increase in temperature.
