The constitution of india was already adopted on 26th Nov 1949(we celebrate it as law day today). But all its provisions were adopted on 26th Jan 1950 in order to honour the purna swaraj pledge which was taken at the lahore congress on 26th Jan 1930. THIS DAY IS CELEBRATED AS REPUBLIC DAY
