Democracy is a form of government in which the rulers are elected by the people.

A democratic country should have the following features :-

Free and fair electoral competition-Their should be a fair chance of losing of the ruling party, not in case of Mexico where a party named PRI always won till 2000 as it used dirty tricks to win,and china under the communist party of China

Major decisions by elected people-Only people which are elected by the people should take the decisions which is not in the case of pakistan where the final decision making power rested with General musharraf

Rule of law and rights of citizens-The government should respect the basic rights of people voilated in the case of Zimbabwe under the rule of popular leader Robert Mugabe

So we can say that every country in the world wants to be a democracy but in reality it may be possible that it voilates the features of democracy and Hence, cannot be called a democracy...

Hope that helps you...
