Why the cutting edge of a knife is made sharp

As Pressure = Force/Area which means lesser the area greater will be the pressure and the cutting becomes easier. Hence, to produce more pressure the cutting edge of a knife is made sharp.

a knife is a tool used for cutting stuff.and as it is used for cutting ,its cutting edge obviously has to be sharp as only sharp objects can be used to cut objects.
