The cytoplasm is all the contents of the cell except the nucleus (if one is present, as in eukayrotes). In eukaryotic cells, the cytoplasm includes organelles such as mitochondria, lysosomes, Golgi bodies, etc. The gel-like fluid portion of the cytoplasm - in which the organelles are suspended - is the cytosol.
