           Since most of the earth is now industrialized and based on more of the infrastructures, in case of a major or a minor earthquake, results will be a graveyard of people and a lot of man made structural damage but if its the same earthquake (lets saw a major earthquake) would have at mostly caused landforms, shaping of the earth etc. So basically its the common chances of the first case (damage) but second case which happens rarely and in a short scale of uplifting surface or suppressing them down....
