If you're asking the literal differencethen GMT stands for Greenwich Mean/Meridian Time and IST stands for Indian Standard Time. Now of you're asking the time difference then IST is +5:30 GMT i.e. Indian time is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of the world standard which is GMT.
