WHY THE DILUTION OF A CONCENTRATED ACID SHOULD ALWAYS BE DONE BY CONCENTRATED ACID TO WATER GRADUALLY WITH STIRRING AND NOT BY ADDING WATER TO CONCENTRATED ACID?

water is not added to acid as it is an extremely exothermic process which may result in splashing of acidic solution or breaking of container.
