because there is a distance between earth and moon and earth have it's own orbit and moon have it's own orbit.

So, Earth don't collide with the moon.

Here is your answer,

===============================================

It depends on which direction the moon was traveling when it came into the influence of earth's gravity.

If it were directly heading towards the earth then it would crash on earth.

Debris from that crash may spill in all directions and some leave the earth's orbit, some fall on it and rest would circle earth.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOUU :)

AND STAY BLESSED.
