Why the electronic configuration of iron is 2,8,14,2 and not 2,8,8,8 ? Please explain in details

Fe (26) =1s2,2s2,2p6,3s2,3p6,3d6, 4s2
ORBITAL ARE FILLED ACCODING TO THEIR ENERGY.
i.e. low enegy orbital is filled first then next
energy order is as -------------
1s<2s<2p<3s<3p<4s<3d<4p<5s<4d<5p--------...
[when the value of (n+l) for ofrbitals are equal then the orbital which has low value
of n is filled first e.g. 3p& 4s have equalvalue of (n+l)=4 but 3p has low value of n=3
so it is filled before 4s , inthe same way 3d,4p,5s have(n+l) = 5 each.so they are
filled in the sequence of their low value of n]AFBAU PRINCIPLE ]
