First of all ESP is invented by Frederick Gardner Cottrell.

Now, Concept

# Smoke is produced when fossil fuels like coal etc is burnt.

# Smoke consists of tiny but solid particles such as unburnt and unreacted carbon and due to which it causes many problems like damages to buildings,infrastructure and causes breathing problems in human.

# So, in order to avoid this smoke is passed through chimneys which helps in the removal of all the wastes.

# And the device used in these chimneys is called as Electrostatic precipitator.

# These charged smoke particles gets attracted by the oppositely charged negative plate on comparing and the smoke gets released successfully.
