An empty vessel contains air inside it. This presence of air acts as a medium of propagation for sound. Sound travels in air with a speed of 332 m per second. the vessel maybe sonorous or non sonorous depending upon the material it is made up of and the sound may be amplified due to the material. The sound travelling through the air and hitting the walls of the vessel may lead to echos and reverberation of sound leading to loud sound.
