Factory wastes contain many harmful chemicals like harmful nitrates, harmful phosphates, etc. If it is not treated and discharged, it may lead to Eutrophication, I.e., the excessive nourishment of water bodies. This may lead to algal bloom, I.e., formation of algae and bacteria. Thus these use up the oxygen and there is very little oxygen left for the marine animals. Moreover it is harmful for humans too.....as the chemicals may enter our body indirectly when we eat the fishes and other marine animals of that particular affected water body and this may lead to harmful diseases like typhoid. So factory wastes should be treated well.

The liquid waste from the factories has to
treated before discharging it in water bodies
as the untreated or liquid waste will harm
the plants and animals living in that water.
