The filament of a bulb has high melting point because the bulb works on the principle of heating effect of electric current so when the electric current passes through its filament the filament gets heated and does glows up to give light

The filament of bulb contain Tungsten(W)
which has very high melting point . When the electricity is passed in fialment it produces heat light and energy . If a good conductor of electricity has low melting point then it will melt and the bulb will remain for only sometime . So the filament of bulb has high melting point.
