Buildings are provided with broad Foundation, because pressure exerted on the ground becomes less. They are wide because they need to provide support for the rest of the building. The wider the foundation, the stronger the overall structure is going to be. If the base was not wide, and you continued to put weight on it then it would eventually collapse.Tall buildings have massive structures. This puts more pressure on the ground below it, and if there is too much pressure and not a stable ground structure the building will collapse and sink into the ground. In order to make sure the buildings do not sink, they make a wide ground structure to decrease pressure on the ground.
