Himachal Pradesh is a hilly area where women are considered an asset not a burden. Not only the women play a major role in domestic life i.e house hold management but also play role in the economy by participating in the earning process. She spends her day in the fields ploughing too.
Women there are also given rights like love marriages, divorce etc. The grooms of Himachal Pradesh also do not ask for dowry but instead pay the wife's parents for the expenses of the marriage.
