The Grignard reagent should be prepared under anhydrous conditions as it reacts with water to give the corresponding alkane.
R-MgBr + H2O———>R-H +MgBr(OH)
R-MgBr + H2O———>R-H +MgBr(OH)

Hey !!
Grignard reagents should be prepared under anhydrous conditions because Grignard reagents are highly reactive. In the presence of moisture they react to give alkanes.
RMgX + H₂O ------> R ----- H + Mg(OH)X
Grignard reagent Alkane
GOOD LUCK !!
