The khilafat movement (1919-1922) was a pan-Islamist political protest campaign launched by Muslims of India to influencethe British govt. not to abolish the Ottoman Caliphate.

Adding to the above answer, the Non-Cooperation movement ended in February 1922.
The Khilafat movement (which was also a part of the non-cooperation movement) also collapsed due to the latter ending.
Also, by late 1922, Turkey gained a more favourable diplomatic position, moved towards secularism and by 1924, Turkey simply abolished the role of the Caliph.
